ECIIA Banking Forum 2026: AI in Banking: From Hype to Value – An Internal Audit perspective 1920 800 ECIIA

20 October 2026 | 09:30–12:30 CEST | Online | 3 CPE

As banks continue to explore and deploy artificial intelligence, Internal Audit faces an increasingly practical question: how can AI deliver genuine value within the audit function while remaining supported by sound governance, clear accountability and professional judgement?

The ECIIA Banking Forum 2026 will bring together perspectives from research, banking governance, supervision and implementation to examine this question.

Across a focused three-hour online programme, the Forum will move beyond general discussion about AI and address the issues that matter directly to Internal Audit in banking: current implementation trends, expectations from Audit Committees, the evolving regulatory environment and lessons from organisations putting AI into practice.

What the Forum will cover

The programme will address:

  • current research and trends in the implementation of AI within Internal Audit;
  • the expectations of Audit Committees when AI is introduced into the internal audit function;
  • the regulatory journey around AI and the lessons learned so far;
  • experience-based insights from the implementation of AI.

The Forum will be particularly relevant to Chief Audit Executives, Heads of Internal Audit, audit managers, Audit Committee members and professionals working in internal audit, governance, risk and compliance in the banking sector.
