Accountancy Europe released 3 publications to influence the debate on non-financial information reporting.

  1. In its response to the NFRD consultation, Accountancy Europe supports corporate reporting that connects financial and non-financial information and advocates for strengthening NFI assurance requirements.
  2. “Setting up for high-quality non-financial information assurance in Europe” position paper investigates 3 conditions to provide high-quality NFI assurance across Europe: the EU regulatory framework should mandate independent external assurance, all assurance service providers need to abide by professional standards, and public oversight should cover all assurance service providers.

Another paper “Interconnected standard setting for corporate reporting” states that developing a “system solution” should be the ultimate goal to deliver global NFI reporting standards connected to financial information and this should be achieved by building on the best of NFI frameworks and by adding regional and sectoral requirements.
