Brussels, 2 December 2024 – EuropeanIssuers has launched its inaugural “Report on CSRD Implementation – Key Findings from European Listed Companies on the Implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)” during today’s Sustainability Reporting conference in Brussels.
This report, based on responses from 144 listed companies across Europe, highlights both the opportunities and challenges of CSRD implementation. The findings reveal significant challenges in CSRD implementation, including:
- Delays in national transposition procedures, legal uncertainty and complex reporting requirements
- Difficulties in Double Materiality Assessments and Value Chain reporting, both of which require extensive data collection and face methodological uncertainties.
- Assurance challenges, with rising costs, limited resources, and expertise gaps among auditors, compounded by inconsistent EU-wide assurance standards.
This Report serves as the first step of EuropeanIssuers’ ongoing efforts to monitor and collaborate with its Members on sustainability reporting.
