The key priorities within the first phase of the semester include Competitiveness and the Green and Digital transitions. The second section of the Presidency term will be devoted to the finalisation of the mid-term review of the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework.

Commissioner Mairead MacGuinness praised the Presidency’s commitments on ESG Ratings and for reaching an agreement on the Listing Act in its entirety before the European Elections. Furthermore, MacGuinness reiterated the importance of burden reduction initiatives in light of the Commission’s 2024 Work Programme by mentioning the postponement of the adoption of Sector-specific ESRS to 2026.
