The European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditing (ECIIA) has elected its new President, Thierry Thouvenot, Chief Audit Executive of KBL European Private Bankers and Board member of IIA Luxembourg. His election took place at the General Assembly held in Luxembourg on September 21, 2019.
Thierry is taking over the Presidency from Farid Aractingi, who has completed his 2-year mandate as ECIIA President and was a Board Member for 5 years.
Farid said “Thierry has been chairing the ECIIA Public Affairs Committee since 2017 and he has already contributed significantly to ECIIA’s work, especially in the financial service sector. Thierry’s dedication and experience will help ECIIA achieve greater objectives”.
Thierry said: “It is a privilege to become ECIIA President and I am looking forward to increasing the role of ECIIA in advocating for the interests of the internal auditors in Europe. Collaboration and knowledge sharing with the various stakeholders are more important than ever and I will promote a European Dialogue. In a rapidly moving environment, I want to support the profession in delivering effective internal audit to enhance corporate governance in Europe”.
Thierry has more than 25 years of experience in audit in the financial sector within major European countries.
