The European Confederation of Institute’s of Internal Auditing (ECIIA) welcomed IIA Israel as a member during its General Assembly in Budapest in September 2014.
Although formed in 1960, IIA was re-established in 2011 with the aim of being the only professional voice, recognised authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator of the internal audit profession in the area. It was officially recognised as an institute in Israel in July 2014.
The body has frequent meetings with regulators and members of parliament and its members participate in parliamentary committees. Membership comprises almost 450 internal auditors.
