Tzvetan Tzvetkov is a vice-president of the Bulgarian National Audit Office. He graduated from the Faculty of Financial Control of the University of National and World Economy, Bulgaria.
From 1988 to 1999 he served as a high-level government officer in the State Financial Control Directorate within the Bulgarian Ministry of Finance (Senior Inspector; Chief Inspector; Head of Department "Organization and Methodology of the Financial Inspections at the Budget Suspenders"). In 1999-2000 he took the position of a Head of Department "Internal financial control and inspection" within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Bulgaria.
On January 2000 Tzvetan Tzvetkov was appointed as Director of the Public Internal Financial Control Agency by the Minister of Finance and in the years 2002-2003 he was Advisor of the Minister of Finance on Internal Audit and Financial Control Issues.
On April 2003 he was elected as a President of The Institute of Internal Auditors in Bulgaria. On May 2006 Tzvetan took the position of Head of Internal Audit Unit within the Bulgarian National Audit Office.
In addition to his work Tzvetan has gained qualifications in Internal Auditing /CGAP, CIA/ and has many scientific publications on Financial Control and Internal Auditing. At the international level, Tzvetan Tzvetkov has served, also, as a member of the Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) Steering Committee to the Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA) and a member of the Governing Board of the ECIIA.
