Louis Vaurs, IIA France

Louis Vaurs is a Doctor in Law and has an MBA.

He worked for 35 years for a mortgage bank including 20 years as Inspector General and Compliance Officer. Following that period, he worked as Advisor to the President and subsequently as Ombudsman.

From 2001 to 2010, he was the CEO of IFACI (IIA France).

Louis is currently a consultant, Advisor to the President of IFACI, Manager of IFACI Certification (a subsidiary of IFACI in charge of certifying internal audit departments) and Editor of IFACI magazine. He is also a member of the sanctions Commission of the French Prudential Supervisor for banks and insurance.

He was President of IFACI (1986/1988), Vice-President of ECIIA (1997/1998), Director of The IIA for several years, President of the 54th international conference of The IIA (Paris 1995) and member of different international committees.

In 1988, Louis set up the Francophone Union of Internal Audit which is composed of 25 countries.
