After studying Laws and working as a lawyer, Dr. Hans Joachim Büsselberg joined German Generali Group as Company’s Secretary in 1996. In 1999 he set up the Group Audit Department of Generali Germany and became Head of Group Audit. Since 2005 Hans Joachim Büsselberg has been working as Chief Audit Executive at AXA Germany, responsible for Germany and the activities in Central and Eastern Europe.

He is member of the Board of Deutsches Institut für Interne Revision e.V. (DIIR, IIA Germany) and of the ECIIA Advocacy Committee. He is Head of the Practice Group Internal Audit at Gesamtverband der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft (GDV, German Insurance Federation).
